One Man Band MN

Tommy Burnevik - Bio

Tommy's "One Man Show" sounds like a five piece band with a lead sax player that will blow you away. If you're a ho hum group don't bother, but if you're pumped up and ready to party, Tommy will take you to the next level.

Tommy Burnevik has over 30 years of performing experience.

At the age of 18, he was jamming at the local Minneapolis blues clubs. He would show up, jump on stage and wail on his sax. Tommy was quickly recognized as a soulful blues player with a unique raunchy style.

He joined The Lamont Cranston Band and recorded several projects with them including the first album featuring Tommy's sax playing on great tunes like "Aint nobody here but us chickens". In the course of playing with Lamont Cranston, he had many musical adventures, one of which was a trip to Chicago where he played with Blues greats including Koko Taylor, Sunnyland Slim and Howlin Wolfs Band to name a few.

After 4 years with Lamont Cranston, he formed his own 9 piece swing blues band called "The Bees Knees". His vocal style and honkin & screamin tenor sax was sure to get you off your seat and on your feet. Recognized as one of Minnesota's top ten bands, Tommy Burnevik and The Bees Knees was a guaranteed good time.

Tommy then joined the 80's rock band The Suburbs. With deep roots in the Blues, his sax playing on tracks like "Love is the law" added a cool twist to an awesome edgy rock band.

Now, going solo as a One Man Band, Tommy still rocks the house!

He has performed and/or recorded with many groups including: Howlin Wolf Band, Prodigy, Dean Magraw, Flaming O's, Hot Rod, Lamont Cranston, Joel Johnson, Elvin Bishop, Asleep At The Wheel, The Pistons, The Bees Knees, The Hoop Snakes, Dan Aykroyd, Kim Wilson, Lynwood Slim, The Suburbs, Soul Asylum, Johnny Lang and more.

Song List

Honky tonk
Stroll awhile
Worried about my baby
Bring it on home to me
Little sis
Mess around
Everyday I have the blues
Get the party Started
Have mercy baby
Shake rattle roll
C Jam blues
All right OK
really got a hold on me
It's over
Let's party tonight
634-5789
Switchin in the kitchen
Obdacius
Stand by me
Blood shot eyes
Aint that loving you baby
Party Girl
I need your loving
Ring of fire
Mustang Sally
I take what I want
Land of 1000 dances
Tulsa time
Some kind of wonderful
Crazy bout a saxaphone
Move it on over

Into the mystic
Pony tail
3 Jobs Everyday
Go Back
Not fade away
Good things are comin
Hide and seek
Trouble in mind
One way out
Early one morning
Southern breeze

Rock house
Lonesome train
Rock my baby
Kansas City
Teddy bear
Outskirts of town
Rock and roll that's all
Blue light boogie
I'm just your fool
Good times roll
Keep a knockin
Baby, She's gone
Let's dance
Good rockin tonight
Flip flop fly
Sweet home Chicago
Got my mojo working
Fruit Boots
Money
And More...

The Swing Blues Sound

Tommy's "One Man Show" sounds like a four or five piece band.

With electronic stuff and two keyboards that have built in drums, bass, and rhythm grooves, he then adds piano, tenor sax and vocals to achieve the "Big Blues Sound".

Extra Players

If your music venue or party calls for additional players or even a full band Tommy can fill the need.
